Toll operations and charges

Changes to toll prices, fees and vehicle classes from 1 July 2010

From 1 July 2010, toll prices, fees and vehicle classes will change on the Gateway, Logan and Gateway Extension motorways.

Tolls are changing in accordance with the Government's decision to introduce a new tolling structure for the motorways to facilitate a major upgrade of the southern end of the Gateway Motorway and a new, toll-free Port of Brisbane Motorway as announced by the Treasurer on 18 March 2010.

All tolls are inclusive of GST. The toll amount you pay is determined by your class of vehicle.


NEW VEHICLE CLASSES FROM 1 JULY 2010


From 1 July new vehicle classes will also be introduced to bring Queensland Motorways in line with other toll road operators in Queensland.

Class 1 - Motorcycles

Motorbike

Two-wheeled motor vehicles (including vehicles which have a trailer, fore car or side car attached)

Class 2 - Cars
Cars
Four-wheeled motor vehicles, including taxis, which are not commercial vehicles (including such vehicles which are towing a trailer or caravan)
Class 3 - Light commercial vehicles
Light Commercial Vehicles
Motor vehicles that are registered for commercial use and:
(a) are two axle rigid trucks or load carrying vans or utilities, having a gross vehicle mass greater than 1.5 tonnes but not exceeding 4.5 tonnes or
(b) have spatial dimensions which are substantially consistent with the criteria in paragraph (a) above

Class 4 - Heavy commercial vehicles
Heavy Commercial Vehicles
Motor vehicles that:
(a) are rigid trucks with 3 or more axles
(b) are articulated trucks
(c) are buses
(d) are two axle rigid trucks having a gross vehicle mass greater than 4.5 tonnes
(e) are motor vehicles having a gross vehicle mass greater than 30 tonnes or
(f) have spatial dimensions which are substantially consistent with the criteria in any of paragraphs (a) to (e) above


If you are an existing tag customer and your vehicle class has changed, you do not need a new tag.

Fees and charges are also increasing from 1 July to reflect annual Consumer Price Index (CPI) increases.
