From Friday 16 December 2011 Queensland Motorways' friendly go via customer service team have a new and easy to remember phone number - 13 33 31.

The new number will connect to the Queensland Motorways customer contact centre where motorists can pay their tolls for trips on the Gateway and Logan motorways or manage their go via account.

Queensland Motorways CEO Brendan Bourke said the new number was much more customer friendly and easier for motorists to remember, especially when viewing signage while travelling on the road.

"Christmas is a busy time on the roads, traditionally we experience high volumes of casual customers and visitors to Brisbane on the Gateway and Logan motorways who are largely unfamiliar with our go via toll payment options," Mr Bourke said.

"Our new number, 13 33 31, is being launched to coincide with the start of the school holidays and will help make everyone's trip on the Gateway and Logan motorways even easier this Christmas," he said.

Mr Bourke said Queensland Motorways was expecting more than 4,000 calls per day through its contact centre during the holiday period.

"Our customer contact centre will be open everyday over the Christmas/New Year period between 7.00am and 10.00pm to assist motorists with their toll payments and enquiries."

Motorists can also visit govia.com.au to pay their tolls either before or up to three days after travelling on the Gateway and Logan motorways.

Signage will be updated along the Gateway and Logan motorways to clearly display the new number. Additional signs will also be installed around the toll points on the Gateway Motorway over the Christmas period to help visitors to Brisbane who are not familiar with travelling on toll roads.

The old go via phone number will remain operational for an interim period to ensure that customers have time to adjust to the new number.
